WinterBoard Update

WinterBoard The is an update for WinterBoard in Cydia. There are no visual changes or changes in the UI with the update but, it does include an update for firmware 2.2, some bug fixes and some behind the scenes improvements. Below is a list of the changes for version 0.9.2636-1.

WinterBoard Mods

WinterBoard There were a few mods today in Cydia but, I’m only going to point out a few of them. Two themes, one battery mod and one lock screen mod. The two themes Laying on the Grass (via iSpazio) and Black and Teal (via modmyi) are both very unique themes. The battery mod, Battery Colors (via modmyi), is a simple mod of the stock battery that will change the color of your battery based on percentage (red, yellow, green, blue). Finally the lock screen mod, Tinker Bell Lockscreen (via BigBoss), is a very nicely designed lock screen mod including the battery, slider and wallpaper. Below are the screenshots of each mod. New Themes for WinterBoard

WinterBoard Below are some unique themes I found recently in Cydia. The first, Contemporary Baroque (via modmyi) is a simple and clean black and white theme. It contains only the basic icons but, if you are only looking to mod your first page…this theme will do that. The second theme, Glasklart (via modmyi) is another option for clear icons. I personally love clear icons! I can change my wallpaper every day or so and feel like I have a whole new theme. The third theme, SnowFlake Gilles (via modmyi) is one to get you into the Holiday spirit. There is a little too much going on for me and I had to take off the background image. iSpazio DockFlow

WinterBoard iSpazio DockFlow is a mod that I noticed last night. It changes your dock icons giving them a cover flow look. It actually looks pretty cool however, there are a few restrictions with it. You need to have a five icon dock, the icons have to be specific icons in a specific order (Safari, SMS, Phone, Mail and iPod) and you cannot use it with other mods such as Stack. But, if you are willing to deal with these restrictions is does look pretty cool. Once installed, you will need to activate it via WinterBoard.

WinterBoard Mods

WinterBoard There are quite a few mods in WinterBoard today and I want to mention a few…one of which I am excited to tell the ladies about!! I always try to post about any mods that are aimed toward us females, only because there are not a ton of them and so it is nice to know about the few there are. Well, I honestly have not found that I am overly impressed with but, I really like a new theme called KillSignCarbonPink the other mods are titled; Sun and Moon SMS, Icon Shadow and Icon Glow.

KillSignCarbonPink is a very complete theme. It contains icon, slider bar, keyboard, dialer, wallpaper, system, badges, SMS Bubbles, loading screens, battery and many more mods. It is pretty clean and nicely put together. There are a few things I’m not huge on but overall, a decent theme you will want to check out. The next mod is an SMS mod. It changes your SMS Bubble to an yellow and a pearl color. The yellow sms bubbles have have a star and the pearl have a moon. It also has a star wallpaper. It sounds like it could be cheesy but, it is actually a decent design. [Read more…]

Date & Time WinterBoard Mod

WinterBoard Date & Time is a WinterBoard mod that adds the current date and time to the StatusBar on your iPhone or iPod Touch. I’m not exactly sure why you would need this mod because the time is already on your statusbar and the date is on the Calendar icon. But, if you are looking to see the date and time with one glance…this might just be the mod for you. I did find that if you are using an app that has statusbar notifications, it can overlap the notification depending on how many you have. You can get this mod via the iSpazio source.

WinterBoard Mods

WinterBoard There were are quite a few mods via Steffwiz’s Source in Cydia today. I thought I would touch on a few of them. I just had a person email me yesterday asking if I knew of any SMS bubbles that were available in Cydia and then today there were some! Steffwiz has released both Purple and Auqa SMS bubbles. I know there are more than that in Cydia but, for the life of me I can’t remember the titles of the packages. If you know of any…let me know in the comments.

WinterBoard Themes – KillSignRetroBlue and Ironman

WinterBoard There have been a couple themes in WinterBoard recently that I think are note worthy. The themes are KillSignRetroBlue and Ironman. Both of themes have quite a bit of modding in them. The KillSignRetroBlue theme includes icons (though the YouTube icon does not work…you will have to manually SSH in and capitalize the “Y” in YouTube icon…then it will work), custom battery, HUD, Closebox, badge and sliders.

The Ironman theme does a ton of modding as well…lock screen, wallpaper, battery, sms balloons, slider, weather screen, sounds, load screens, dialer….etc. Honestly, I’m not huge on theme Themes (and this one is a little on the boyish side :)) but, I got word that this was cool so I thought I would pass it along! Trama – winterBoard Theme

WinterBoard Trama is an interesting theme that came out in Cydia last night. There is not a ton of info about the theme but, it does seem to change your WiFi signal icon and battery icon on your Status Bar, the battery charging image on your lock screen when you iPhone or iPod Touch is plugged in and the sliders. WinterBoard 0.9.2598-1

WinterBoard There was an update to version 0.9.2698-1 of WinterBoard today. The changes are listed below. There are a few cool new changes but, I just want to quickly mention two of them. The one that I think most people will appreciate is that new themes are now added to the top of your list in WinterBoard, instead of the bottom of the list. Also, I noticed that the the icon label option has been changed to two options; No Undocked Icon Lables and No Docked Icon Labels. This allows to turn off your SpringBoard icon labels and your Dock icon labels separately…which just allows for more customization flexibility.

Personally I love WinterBoard but, I’m still waiting for that nice user interface. Maybe I’m the only one who still cares about that but, [Read more…]
