Leaf

Another one of my favorite themes was updated in the Installer which brought it back to my attention. The name of the theme is Leaf and it is through the ModMyiFone.com source. It is a SummerBoard theme and is one of the most unique I have seen. I love how the titles of the apps are laied out on the icons. you will want to turn on the icon and dock labels through SummerBoard to get the full effect of the theme. I think it looks great both with and without the Theme’s Wallpaper. Let me know what you think of it!

Dactyl 0.01

Dactyl Ok, have your ever played that game at an arcade where you have to bop the gophers on the head with the malate thing. Well, Dactyl soooo reminds me of that game!! The object of the game it to tap the bombs when they turn red, to keep them from exploding. When the apps opens, you will see 12 bombs. To start playing, tap New Game. You then need to tap on each bomb when it turns red. More then one bomb will turn red at a time and they go pretty quick so, be ready! As soon as you miss a bomb, it will “explode” and will display the total number of bombs you defused before it exploded. This is definitely a simple app at the moment. I would love to see [Read more…]

swapBT 1.1

swapBT swapBT is the one-touch solution to toggling your bluetooth. Like with WifiToggle, when you tap on the swapBT icon on your SpringBoard, it will turn your bluetooth on or off depending on it’s current state. If your bluetooth is off when you tap on the app, it will turn it on. Then, to turn your bluetooth back off, just tap the app again and it will turn it off. It will give you a nice little pop-up informing you if the bluetooth is being turned on or off. A quick and simple way to toggle your bluetooth! swapBT is available through the iSpazio source.

Visualize 2.0 version 1.4

Ok, installing this app made me a little nervous. By the time I was on the fourth pop-up, during the Install process, I was beginning to think that maybe I should have read the more info!! However, everything turned out ok. Not only that but, I feel very 2.0ish. A few days ago I wrote a post about another app, Installer to AppStore, and I said it might make those of you getting antsy for the release of version 2.0 feel a little closer to that June day. Well, if you are one of those antsy people, this could help even more! Visualize 2.0 changes [Read more…]

RepoName 0.01b

RepoName RepoName is an app that allows you to find an application’s source by entering the title of the application. When the app opens, you will see a place where you can enter the title of the application you are looking for. Once you have entered the title, tap Enter. It will then display the url for the source that the app is in. For example, if I search for StreetFlow, it will give me the url for the iApp-a-Day source. If the source url is too long… [Read more…]

Live Chat Support

We have added a live chat client to our website. You can visit by clicking “chat” at the top of the site or by visiting AppleiPhoneSchool.com/chat. Since this is new, we will be testing it for the next few weeks. We would love to hear your feedback in the comments. The rules are pretty simple, no swearing & keep the topic to the iPhone or iPod Touch. The chat can hold up to 50 users at once. If we need more, we can add it. We’re also planning on changing the avatars to iPhone icons and you’ll be able to choose.

vWallpaper 0.3

vWallpaper 0.3 Another version of vWallpaper! This developer is on a roll! Now there is the option to choose between wallpapers! This is so sweet. I found 6 that I’d like to share with you! Just SSH in and upload them to /Library/Skrew/Videos/

Reveal

I just installed the Reveal theme from the iSpazio source and I really like it so, I thought I would show it to everyone!! I’m huge on clear icons and have collected a few good sets over the months. I used to use the Ethereal theme a lot (see THIS post for a screenshot) but, I think Reveal may have just passed it up! As with all clear icon packs, having the correct wallpaper is key. I have a few favorites wallpapers that I tend to rotate through but, only three of them work well with this theme (see screenshots below). And, as with all themes, it doesn’t contain an icon for every app…though it does have quite a few! Overall, I think I will keep it around for a while!

New moleskine Themes

Moleskine There are a few new moleskine themes in the Installer; Elements, Leaves, and Sports. Each of the themes add skins for the folder, note and cassette icons! When you install the themes, it will add the themes right into the icon section of moleskine (no icon on your SpringBoard for these). They are all pretty cool – see screenshots below. With version 0.37b2 of moleskine allowing everyone to change the icon skins, even on the free version, these are very cool additions to the app! The moleskine themes are available through the databinge source.

TimeCapsule 0.30b1 & 0.30b2

TimeCapsule The update to version 0.30b1 of TimeCapsule adds a few more apps to the list of those that can be backed-up. You can now back-up your MxTube videos, your weDict installs and your moleskine themes and sounds. Another new feature is that you can restore individual Installer plist files instead of having to restore them all. However, I am having a small issue, it doesn’t seem to see my MxTube files. When I open TimeCapsule, [Read more…]

Moleskine 0.37b2 & 0.37b3

MoleskineThe update to Moleskine is absolutely huge!! So huge, that I am going to list all the info via the developers below! But, I can’t resist telling you about some of the new features that I think are seriously sweet!! When you first open the app and are on the list of all your folders, you can tap the top status bar to turn on the ability to reorder your folders…just tap it again to turn off the reordering! I absolutely love this feature. This is much better than the previous version where the Folder were stuck in the order they were created in! You can use this same technique in edit mode to turn on/off auto capitalization.

Another sweet new feature is that you can now add a voice note to your notes! In order to do so, [Read more…]

vWallpaper Video Wallpaper Video from iPhone Video Recorder

MxTube2

MxTube Below is some info from the developer on MxTube about MxTube2 and how it is coming along. Check out our post on MxTube for more info about the app.

MxTube2 dev has been going great! Just like before everything is just falling into place perfectly. So far MxTube2 has not crashed once and doesn’t have a single bug. Also, one small but cool feature I have been able to build is dynamic thumbnail loading for the search function. Just like the youtube app, mxtube2 will only load thumbnails in view after scrolling has stopped. This improves the speed of the application considerably.

I’m really excited to see what MxTube2 will bring. This is one of my favorite apps, it even made it to the list of my Top Ten Apps. Can’t wait until it is released!

Visual Search Engine

There will never be an end to new ideas with the iPhone and that’s what makes it so great! Developers are working on a visual search engine for the iPhone. Basically you just take a photo of something and email it to their servers and you get a reply with all kinds of info. Now of course this will only work with whatever they choose to put in their databases. So if you take a picture of your kid and email it to them you probably won’t get any relevant info. The video demo below shows movie and book covers but images it working with everything, then link it to Wikipedia! Right now it’s working with YouTube and iTunes. Can you imagine taking a picture of a car and getting info on it? Or a house for sale and getting it’s listing!
