vWallpaper – Video Wallpaper

vWallpaper 0.3 Here’s another reason why you will still want to jailbreak your iPhone after the SDK apps are released: Video Wallpaper. This tweak hasn’t been released yet but we’ll make sure to let you know when it is! Here’s a video:

UPDATE: This app is available through installer from this source under multimedia: http://i.danstaface.net

MPG 1.0.3

MPG Version 1.0.3 of MPG, adds a few new features. Though, I must be honest, I hadn’t truely used this app to it’s full capacity until this week-end. We are traveling and decided to use MPG to keep track of our gas miliage. It works surprisingly well. Everytime we get gas, we just get a recipe, enter a few quick numbers into the app and voilà…it calculates our miles per gallon! We are currently getting 29.20 mpg! Not too bad! Though, we did pay 3.479 dollars per gallon, which is the highest we have ever paid! Anyway! On to the updates! [Read more…]

Pool 2.0

Pool There are a ton of new features in version 2.0 of Pool! Instead of playing single player against yourself, as in the previous version, you can now play Two-Player and Vs. Computer! These are both long awaited features that I am totally stoked to see them finally implemented!! Another sweet new feature is that the games are saved when you exit the app!! The next time you open the app, just select Load Last Game. There are also some new options in the Settings; [Read more…]

Hahlo 3.0 – Legendary Edition

Hahlo 3.0 With Twitter becoming more popular every day, there seems to be more and more ways to tweet. Hahlo (no idea how to pronounce it) has been around for quite a while but now there is Hahlo 3. Although it’s in beta testing, you can become a tester pretty easy. Just email beta@hahlo.com to signup. The new version organizes menus better and even has a nice popup for more menu choices. Looks like another feature is the ability to search. The timeline does something I wish other Twitter clients like twhirl and Twinkle did; [Read more…]

Twitxr 0.5

Twitxr Twitxr is an iPhone app for the website Twitrx.com. Twitxr allows you to publish a picture to your Twitter account. From the iPhone you can either take a photo from within Twitxr or pull photos from your camera roll. If you choose to take a picture it will show up in your camera roll later. Once you choose your picture you just type your text and send it. It posts to your Twitxr account which then posts to your Twitter with a link to the photo. Other features include seeing other users pics from Twitxr, recording your location (is only seen on the Twitxr website) and toggle for high res picture (turn off for faster edge experience). 3G iPhone to be released at WWDC June 9th

If you read our news page you already know most of this info because everyone is talking about it. Now of course Apple hasn’t announced this but there are so many signs like this internal memo from UK carrier O2:

“Due to the highly successful sales of the Apple 8GB iPhone, supply chains have run out of stock and will not be replenishing stock of this product as it has now gone to end of life.”

The 3G iPhone will most likely be announced during the WWDC, June 9th – 13th with sizes of 16GB & 32GB and minor design changes. Rumor lists include true GPS, thinner design and camera in front (video chat).

iPhone Video Recorder 1.1.6

UPDATE: There was an upgrade to 1.1.6 while I was writing this and I had version 1.1.4 to begin with. Although there are improvements. It’s not good enough for me to pay for yet. The update added higher quality choices which improved the end result.

iPhone Video RecorderWhen I first heard about this app I thought it was going to be ushow… Well, it’s not :( Although it has it’s features, the basic functionality is so bad for me I won’t be using it. I’d rather carry something like the Flip Video. Hopefully ushow will be much better. If iPhone Video Recorder worked properly better, it would be a great app. This is technically a demo and give only 30 secs of recording. Purchasing gives unlimited recording time. Here’s my list of pros and cons: [Read more…]

iPhone Video Recorder test video

There is a new app out called iPhone Video Recorder. You can get it by installing this source: http://www.iphone-recorder.com/install2

So far the video and audio for me are not in sync. Also I can’t send direct to YouTube, Facebook or Flickr although I can manual upload them. Complete review later tonight.

Installer to AppStore

Getting antsy waiting for the AppStore to finally be implemented? Well, this app might help! While you wait for the actually AppStore, you can rename your current Installer.app to AppStore…making that day in June feel a little closer! The nice part about this app, instead of just renaming the Installer app manually, is that you will see still see updates for Installer because it doesn’t change the actual title of the Installer.app. Which also means you will not see an icon on your SpringBoard for this one. Just install it, [Read more…]

HWPen 1.0.1 beta

I not really sure that the update to version 1.0.1 of HWPen does. I do see one visual change, the Chinese Characters on the button to switch to recognize Chinese writing look different. However, I do not notice any changes in functionality. It still seems to struggle recognizing when to capitalize a letter and when to leave it lowercase. It is also still limited in it’s recognition ability. I can get it to recognize one letter pretty well, a two letter word sometimes but still not anything longer than two letter. I must say, [Read more…]

Community Sources 3.8

The update to Community Sources 3.8 removes the Conceited Software repo from Community Sources. This is because all of Conceited Software’s applications have been moved to the Big Boss source which is already in the Community Sources.

Community Sources 3.8

Conceited Software now BigBoss

I noticed that quite a few apps in the installer, that used to be in the Conceited Software source, were now showing up as in the BigBoss source. So, after some research, I found out that Conceited Software has moved all of their apps to the BigBoss repo. In doing so, BigBoss has updated quite a few of them with some bug fixes, compatibility updates and making them function smoother. The apps listed below had either bug fixes or compatibility updates. I will do a reviews on the apps that had updates to the actual functionality.

StreetFlow 0.8

StreetFlow I already know this is going to be one of my favorite apps and I have only been using it for a little while! StreetFlow is an app that locates dinning establishments based on your location. It also includes a rating of the restaurant and comments from others who have been to the restaurant. When you open the app, it will take a few seconds to find your location. It will then display a list of restaurants starting with the one closest to you. From the list, you can tap on a restaurant to get more information like; the name of the restaurant, the address of the restaurant, it’s rating (based on a five star rating system), a list of comments and the ability to add a comment. If you would like to add a comment, [Read more…]

uShow Registration Open

I have been keeping a close eye on the uShow website since April 20th when they said they were going to reopen the registration. Well…it has finally been reopened!! If you head over to uShow.com you can Sign Up. You will need to give a username, password, email address and your iPhone Serial Number – which is common practice when signing up for beta apps but they also say it is “used to create a unique certificate to sync your device to uShow®.” If you are wondering what uShow is…it is a video recording application that allows you to create, save and share your videos (via email or by uploading them to online video services). It is being developed by [Read more…]

New Poll! YAY!

It’s Poll time!! The last poll was – What are you more likely to use your iPhone for? Below are the results based on when we added it a little over a week ago.

Work (7%, 110 Votes)
Play (38%, 637 Votes)
Both (50% Work, 50% Play) (55%, 914 Votes)
Total: 1,661

I was among the 7% that said work! But, that is only because I am technically “working” when I am on my iPhone! :) You can still vote on this Poll in our Poll Archive page. You can also vote/view all the past polls on the Poll Archive page as well. Now, for the new poll:

How much would you pay for an App from the App Store? (USD)
