Sam D1 – WinterBoard Theme

Sam D1 is a sleek theme that has semi-transparent icons. The theme contains; three wallpapers, a dock, 284 icons and some UI mods (though, I’m not huge on the UI mods). The theme in it’s original state, is supposed to have all blank icons except for the last column on the page so that you are able to see the wallpaper graphic. But, I don’t really like the wallpaper so I installed Carbon Wallpaper via the PwnCenter source and used it instead. Also, the Stocks icon is not correct. The theme’s folder contains an icon for the Stocks application however, it does not match the theme. Other than that…the icons are pretty cool. You can get Sam D1 via the MacCiti source. [Read more…]

Alit – WinterBoard Theme

Alit is a WinterBoard theme that contains a wallpaper, status bar, dock, lock screen background, slider, 65 icons and badge. The theme’s folder also contains an icon template, a .psd file (you can get the file by sshing in and it is located in the Library/Themes/Alit.theme folder). The unique thing about this theme is that it themes all icons (except web clips and some random Cydia apps). If the theme doesn’t have a specific icon made for an app, it just themes the app’s original icon (see screenshots below). It even themes the icons in the App Store. If you open the App Store app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, while Alit is enabled, you will notice that even the app thumbnails are themed! It is nice to have themes like this. WinterBoard Update – iPhone 3GS Compatible

WinterBoard has been updated to version 0.9.2958-2. According to saurik, the developer; “The newly released 0.9.2958 versions of MobileSubstrate and WinterBoard (upgraded to support ARM7/Thumb2) should now work on the iPhone 3GS.” So, YAY! Let us know in the comments how the update does for you. For those of you who do not have an iPhone 3GS….you will still want to upgrade to the new version of WinterBoard. Boxxy Cons Theme – WinterBoard Theme

Boxxy cons Theme is a unique theme made up of small icons. The theme contains a dock, wallpaper and 29 icons. Unfortunately, the theme is not packaged for the 3.0 firmware which means if you are on 3.0, you will need to ssh in and change Text.png to Messages.png. The iTunes icon is also packages incorrectly and is spelled iTunea.png and need to be changes to iTunes.png. You can find the icons in the Library/Theme/Boxxycons.theme/Icons folder. [Read more…]
Advanced Lock – Lock Screen Theme

Advanced Lock is a lock screen mod. It looks like a log in screen in which you have to “scan” your finger to enter. You actually have to swipe your finger for it to work…you cannot just hold your finger on the spot. When you swipe your finger, a blue finger print will show up. SpringBoard Clock Update

There is an update to SpringBoard Clock, a mod that adds the current time and date to your SpringBoard, to version 1.1. The update is said to change the app so that the user can use their own wallpaper and includes some bug fixes. I gave the update a shot and I’m still not having much luck. The wallpaper of the mod has been changed to a blank wallpaper but, I still cannot use it with another theme’s wallpaper (by moving the theme above the SpringBoard Clock mod in WinterBoard) or use my own wallpaper with the mod (by moving User Wallpaper above the SpringBaord Clock mod in WinterBoard). iGlass Sol Remix is a remix of the original theme. It uses some of the icons from the original theme and then adds a few new ones. The theme contains a wallpaper, dock, 277 icons and a handful of other UI mods. The theme is packaged for firmware 2.x and below so, you will have to ssh in (Library/Themes/MyGlassSol/Icons) and change Text to say Messages…if you are on 3.0 firmware.. You can get iGlass Sol Remix via the BigBoss source.

Simplicity – WinterBoard Theme

Simplicity is an icon set that contains 27 of the basic icons. The theme does not contain anything but icons so, you are able to customize the rest of it yourself. There are two downfalls with this theme; it does not contain an icon for the Stocks app and it is designed for the 3.0 firmware. So, if you are on 2.x or below, the Text icon will also not display. If you are comfortable with ssh, you can ssh into the Library/Themes/Simplicity.theme/Icon folder and change Messages to Text…then it will display correctly. You can get Simplicity via the modmyi source.
