WeatherIcon Update – Firmware 3.1 Compatible

WeatherIcon Over the week-end WeatherIcon, a mod that displays the current temperature and weather conditions in the Weather icon, received two updates. The first, version 2.2.5, made the application compatible with the 3.1 firmware… which I know many of you have been waiting for! WeatherIcon Update – Compatible with Battery Control

WeatherIcon Yesterday, there was an update to the WeatherIcon mod… a mod that displays the current temperature and weather conditions on your Weather icon or Statusbar. The update, “Fixed incompatibility with Battery Control when both the battery and percentage are hidden.”

Battery Control is an application that provides additional Statusbar battery options. I personally don’t think I experienced this bug but, if you did, now there is a fix for it! [Read more…]

WeatherIcon Update – LockInfo Compatibility, Added Info to Settings and Bug Fix

WeatherIcon The WeatherIcon mod was recently update to version 2.1.16. The update doesn’t make any visual change to the mod itself but, it does add a description of the Override Location feature in the Settings for the app. The update also adds compatibility with LockInfo and includes a bug fix. WeatherIcon Update – Changed Source?

WeatherIcon Yesterday, there an update was release for the WeatherIcon mod. The update is through the modmyi source. It doesn’t make any changes to the mod however, it does replace the mod via the david.ashman.com source. I’m not sure if David has moved his mod to the modmyi source or if the update to the app mistakenly overwrites the david.ashman.com mod. Doug said he had a little bit of trouble with the update on his iPhone 3GS, he had to unisntall and reinstall it…then it worked. I didn’t have any issues with the update on an iPhone 3G running 3.0. WeatherIcon 2.1.14 – Fixes Phone Bugs

WeatherIcon There have been a few updates to the WeatherIcon mod since the last time I wrote about it. The updates were mostly bug fixes but, the update to 2.1.14 caught my eye. The update says, “This release “should” fix issues that people were seeing with phones running on EDGE that had incoming call issues. I got reports of problems with calls being dropped, no audio, and other oddities. This release should handle that more gracefully.” [Read more…]

LiveClock Update – Smoother 3.0 Integration

LiveClock LiveClock has been updated to version 0.4. Before the update, the LiveClock mod worked but, it was a little weird…when you first installed it, it would display six hands instead of three and you would have to tap at the very bottom of the Clock icon to open the stock Clock application. Well, the update fixes these problems. I no longer had a problem with the mod displaying six hands and the Clock application opens normally. [Read more…]

WeatherIcon Updates – Status Bar Improvements

WeatherIcon The WeatherIcon mod has had quite a few updates going from version 2.1.4 to 2.1.9 (below are all the change logs). LiveClock Mod on 3.0 Firmware

LiveClock I have had quite a few people asking me about the LiveClock mod (a mod that displays the current time on your Clock icon) and whether or not it works on the 3.0 firmware….the answer is, yes!

The first time you install the mod, it will be over the top of your Stock icon which makes it look weird because it will have two hour, minute and second hands. All you need to do is go into WinterBoard and disable LiveClock. Your iPhone and/or iPod Touch will respring. Now, go back into WinterBoard and uncheck the LiveClock Disabled option…your device will respring again and voilà you will have the LiveClock mod (working correctly). You can get this mod via the iSpazio source.

WeatherIcon Update 2.1.3

WeatherIcon There was another update to the WeatherIcon mod. The updated says that it adds “more 3.0 compatibility.” When I tested it, I was able to enable the Status Bar Image and Temp but, they are not aligned correctly. They are too high on the Status Bar and are only partially visible.

The update does make the app compatible with the 2.2 firmware again. When I installed the update on an iPhone running 2.2, it did not go into Safe Mode and both the Icon and Status Bar worked correctly. So, you should be safe to install it now. [Read more…]

WeatherIcon Update – Supports 3.0 Firmware *UPDATE WARNING

WeatherIcon The WeatherIcon mod (a mod that allows the current temperature and weather conditions to be displayed on your weather icon) has been updated to version 2.1.2 which allows it to work on the 3.0 firmware. The status bar part of the mod still is not working on 3.0 but, at least the icon part of the mod is!

When I first installed WeatherIcon, on my iPhone running 3.0, it went into safe mode. I restarted the SpringBoard again, as prompted by the safe mode pop-up, and it worked fine. The same thing happened when I updated the mod on an iPhone running 2.2 firmware as well (safe mode, restarted, worked fine).

WeatherIcon Update – Removes Theme Adds Status Bar Icons

WeatherIcon The WeatherIcon mod received a few updates overnight. The update to version 1.8.4 makes a few changes to the application that you will want to know about. The most obvious change is that it removes the icon theme from the package. So, when you update to version 1.8.4 you will no longer see a weather image just the actual weather in degrees. In order to have a weather images, you will need to install either the Katra WeatherIcon theme or the Klear WeatherIcon theme based on which weather images you prefer (see screenshots below). Both of these themes are available through the david.ashman.com source.

WeatherIcon 1.5.3 – Updating Weather Icon

WeatherIcon OK, I have held off on writing about this app for a few days because it was getting updated so frequently and I wanted to let a few updates pass before talking about it again. I will say, the updates have made using this application much easier than in the first few version of the app…you can check out that article HERE. So, lets talk about what the app looks like now.

I have good news for those of you would are not big on sshing into your iPhone or iPod Touch…you can now successfully use this application without the need to shh. The weather information is now pulled directly from the weather info already on your iPhone…so, no need for ssh. This also means that the temp on your weather icon will mach the temp displayed inside your stock Weather application…which is nice. [Read more…]

WeatherIcon – Updating Weather Icon (Updated…scroll down)

WeatherIcon I wrote a post this morning about a reflective dock application. I also warned in that post about another application title WeatherIcon (available through the same source). I received word today that the application had been upgraded and no longer creating crashing problems so, I decided to check it out.

Ok, I had this post written this afternoon but, I had to completely rewrite it tonight! We have done a lot of testing on this application and it does work however, it is going to take some explaining. So, take a deap breath and then continue reading!

When you install the WeatherIcon app in Cydia (be sure you install version 1.1.1 or newer), it adds an option to your WinterBoard titled Weather Icon. When you select the Weather Icon option in WinterBoard, it will activate the application. When the app is activated, it changes your stock weather icon to a blank weather icon and then puts the new temp and weather image on top of the blank weather icon. [Read more…]

LiveTime – Animated Clock Icon

LiveTime LiveTime is an application that animates and updates the clock icon on your SpringBoard…allowing it to continually display the current time. When you install LiveTime, it will automatically begin to animate your clock icon. The hour and minute hand will show the current time and the second hand will move accordingly. Now, when you first install the application, it is an overlay on your stock icon. So, you will see the stock time (10:15 and 0 seconds) underneath the animated clock. However, when you installed LiveTime, it also added a theme to WinterBoard titled; LiveTime Clock. If you go into WinterBoard and activate the theme, it will change the icon so that you only see the animated clock. [Read more…]
