If you also have kids you love balloon animals… you will want to check out Balloonimals.

Available In: App Store       Price: $1.99

HexSet HexSet is Connect Four for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I don’t know about you guys but, I love Connect Four! It totally brings me back to the good ol’ days when my sister and I spent many an hour playing Connect Four (we even had a little travel Connect Four game to play in the car)… oh the memories. So, as you can image, I was pretty excited to see HexSet.

The object of the game is very straight forward, line up four of your pieces in a row (diagonal, horizontal or vertical) however, at the same time, you need to block your opponent from getting four of their pieces in a row. [Read more…]

Lexulous – Triple Word Score for Double Letter Price

Available In: App Store       Price: $3.99

Lexulous I was late to the Facebook game, and although I do enjoy a good status update every now and then, I am definitely not a FB addict. One of the things I constantly hear from other friends who are self described addicts is how much time they spend playing games online. We’re not talking huge video games like Quake or Call of Duty, but rather simple ones like Boggle or Poker. One of the most popular games was Scrabulous, a Scrabble knockoff that got some interesting press a few months ago when Hasbro decided that they wanted to make some money on their game title. Well, the popular word game (now named Lexulous) has arrived to the iPhone in the form of a native app. [Read more…]

Brick Avoid

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Brick Avoid Brick Avoid was actually released earlier this week however, when I went to test it, I thought it was broken. I expected to see an update for the app but, I never did. Well, this morning, my 2 year old son showed me that it indeed was not broken just user error! When you open the application, you will get a loading screen in which you need to tap to continue into the application. You will then get another “loading” screen in which you also have to tap to get to the main menu of the application.

On the main menu you have the options; Start Game, Settings, HighScores, About and Quit. The Setting and HighScores options are not available at this time. Once you have selected Start Game, the game will begin when you tap and hold on the little guy. You then need to continue to hold the guy as you move him around the screen to avoid being hit by the bricks. Once you are hit by a brick, you will get a screen displaying how long you were able to avoid being hit.

RailWater 1.0

Available In: cydia       Price: Free

RailWater is actually a very fun game of strategy. The object of the game is to add the correct pipes joints to move the water through all the pipes and at the same time have all the numbers match. When you open RailWater you will get a splash screen and then the main menu. On the main menu, there are two options; Play and Help. Help is actually in a different language so unless you speak Italian (I don’t actually know if it is Italian! :) ) the Help will not help you much. Once you select Play you will be on the main play screen. Here you will notice an upper menu bar and a lower menu bar. On the upper menu you have the level you are on, the amount of time that has passed, the option to go back to the main menu, restart that level and turn the sound on/off.

#Neverball The update to version 1.2.1 of Neverball makes a few changes to the Settings option. In the Settings there is still a Calibrate option however, it has changed slightly. You can now select one of two icons that will adjust how much your iPhone will be tilted when you play the game. Once you have chosen one of the two icons, you can then calibrate your iPhone. Just tilt your iPhone until the yellow boxes, on both the side and bottom of the screen, are in the middle of the red line then select Calibrate Centre. It will say that it has saved your Calibration. You also have the ability to choose between three sensitivities; Low, Medium and High. I found that the Setting with [Read more…]

Backgammon 2.5

Backgammon The update to Backgammon 2.5 adds the application to the RiP Dev source. In doing so, the full version of the game is no longer available via a donation. The game now costs $9.00 USD. It does however come with a free 3 day trial. There are not any huge new features or visual changes to the application so, the main reason for the update is that you now have to purchase the full version of the application. However, if you have donated in the past for this application, you will receive an activation code in your email (without having to pay the $9.00). If you have not received your activation code [Read more…]
