SDK Release

Well, we are in the last week of February and the long anticipated SDK release is schedule for “the end of February.” Sticking with Apple’s theme of releasing something new every Tuesday since January 1st…we might assume that we will see SDK tomorrow (but you never know…Apple might throw us a curve ball…they do “technically” have four more days in February. Maybe they will release it on Leap Day!). I personally am totally excited to see what Apple has in store for the iPhone! Whenever we finally see this quote, unquote SDK…AppleiPhoneSchool will be ready to welcome it to our website!

Poof 1.10

Poof Version 1.10 of Poof has some pretty cool improvements. It now has added support for hiding and unhiding the Camera and Photos app but, what is really cool, is that is now comes with the MobileAddressBook app. When you open Poof…you can go into the hidden apps and you will see MobileAddressBook if you tap it and unhide it it will add a stand-alone Contacts icon on your SpringBoard. I personally think this is really cool! Version 1.0 and above of Poof will only work with firmware 1.1.3. Also due to updates with both Categories and Poof… [Read more…]

XLaunch 0.31-113

XLaunch Version 0.31 of XLaunch is soooo sweet. Take Xlaunch and AppFlow and squish them together into a Xlaunflow sandwich! When you open XLaunch it will look like your ordinary Xlaunch, displaying all your apps in alphabetical order with nice little headers…now, turn your iPhone horizontally and voilà AppFlow! Very cool!! Not only that but, it now displays webapps too!! But, it doesn’t stop there [Read more…]

XLaunch 0.30-113

XLaunchXLaunch is another well done application from Erica Sadun, and can be found in Installer.app from the Ste Packaging source under the System category. The application itself is very clean and is very similar to the Song list in the iPod app on your iPhone. It lists all applications in alphabetical order and has a header for each letter, and even uses the same scrolling alphabet on the right hand side.

If you like to keep your Springboard nice and clean, and are on 1.1.3, use this application with Poof. Use poof to hide all the applications you don’t want to see, then use XLaunch to find them later when you need them. Screen shots after the break! [Read more…]

Taskbar Notifier (1.1.3) 0.9

One of my favorite little applications has released an update on installer for iPhone v1.1.3! In case you haven’t seen this app before, there is no icon added to your Springboard, it instead adds a little graphic to the status bar at the top on the screen when you have new mail, or text messages, and now will even show when you have a missed phone call! See THIS post for more info about the app. It can be found in Installer.app from the iClarified source, under the iClarified category. Check out the screenshots after the break!
This can now be found from this repo: source: http://dajavax.googlepages.com/repo.xml
Thanks to reader Jess, for this information! [Read more…]

Categories 1.64 & 1.70

Catgeories There have been two updates to Categories…version 1.64 and version 1.70. Both updates have a few additions and changes. The only visual change is the addition of some new icons in the selection of icons you can choose from for your category icon. However, there were a few important fixes…the SummerBoard theme bug has been fixed for all versions – 1.1.3 and below, additional support for camera and photos icons has been added as well as better compatibility with apps that have non-standard plist files such as iAno. I am still waiting for [Read more…]

Main Script Execution Failed

Ok…I just got this error in my Installer – “main script execution failed!” I tried restarting my iPhone, installing different apps (both new and updates) and even installing apps from different sources…no luck, still got the error. That is when, in frustration, I handed my iPhone to Doug and being as brilliant as he is…he fixed it! All I needed to do was clear my queue! I had tried to install weTool-US…which got almost through the install process and gave me the “main script execution failed!” error (which I still get when I try to install this app). Well, from there, I tried to install other apps not realizing that weTool-US was still in my queue. So, moral of the story, try clearing your queue (or hand your iPhone to someone brilliant)!

VoiceNotes v.31

IconErica Sadun has released version .31 of Voicenotes, and it can be found on Installer.app from Ste Packaging source under the category “Multimedia”.

I contacted Erica on her site to get a change log, and I got this response:

“I’m afraid that grown-up real-developers do things like change logs.
I’ve just been hacking at the software. Sorry!”

lol.

I didn’t notice any changes in this version, but I don’t use it a whole lot. Maybe you can find some? [Read more…]

1.1.3 SMB Theme Fix on Installer.app

IconiPod Touch Fans have added a 1.1.3 SummerBoard themes fix called “1.1.3 Theme Fix” to their repo. It can be found in Installer.app under the category “Tweaks (1.1.3)”. Install it once, then every time you add a new theme through the Installer.app go to the uninstall list in Installer and “reinstall” the 1.1.3 Theme Fix, similar to how you reinstall BSD Subsystems.

This is just a code application, you will not see anything on your Springboard!

Basically it just runs the script I showed you before every time you ‘reinstall’ this app. Nice, quick, and easy for those who are scared of running a command line script. Some screen shots after the break. [Read more…]

iTrac 1.0rc1

iTrac The update to iTrac 1.0rc1 is very cool. Not only does the app have a new look but a few very cool new features…including 1.1.3 compatibility! When you open the app you will see that it has a new design. The only tricky part of the new interface is that you have to tap the arrow next to the tracking number in order to enter the number but, after you have entered the number, you have to tap back in the app to get the keyboard to disappear. Which, for some reason, doesn’t feel very smooth to me! The coolest part of the update [Read more…]

StatusStyle 2.01

StatusStyle The update to version 2.01 of StatusStyle does not have any visual changes however…it does make the app compatible with all versions of FW!! Very cool! StatusStyle is available through the iPod Touch Fans source. Below is the screenshot!

StatusStyle 2.01

TextTwist

TextTwist TextTwist is a fun little game where you are given six letters and two minutes to make as many words as possible from those six letters. The app opens to an info screen giving you the basic info on how to use the app. From there you will get the play screen with six letter at the bottom. To make a word just tap on the letters (in order) and it will add them to the boxes above it. If you want to change the word once it is already in the boxes just tap on the letter again and it will move it back down. To see if you have created a word, double tap the middle of the screen. AppFlow 0.01

AppFlow Are you looking for a new way to find apps amoung all the ones on your SpringBoard? Well, AppFlow might be just what you are looking for! When you launch AppFlow you will cover a CoverFlow style menu with all your apps listed in alphabetical order, stock and third party. To select an app…just tap double tap it! This is a SUPER sweet app! All we need now is higher resolution icon images and the ability to include webapps in the list! AppFlow is available in the Installer.app through the Ste Packaging source works on both 1.1.1 and 1.1.3. Below are the screenshots. [Read more…]
