FBphotoSave is a hack that allows you save photos from the Facebook application to your Camera Roll. Normally, the stock photo saving method that allows you to tap and hold on an image to save it to your device does not work in the Facebook application however FBphotoSave enables this feature.
It’s a super simple little hack. Once installed, you can use the hack by tapping and holding on any photo in the Facebook application. When you release your hold, you will get a pop-up with the options to Cancel the save or Confirm the save. If you select Confirm it will display a little HUD saying that the photo has been saved. You can then go into your Camera Roll and view the saved image.

PageLock is a hack that removes the ability to scroll through the pages on your SpringBoard. I know what you thinking, “So how in the world am I going to get to my next page of apps?” I’ll be honest, I was thinking the same thing! So, I installed the hack and gave it a try. What I found is that it does indeed stop the ability to scroll between pages on your SpringBoard however, you are able to tap next to the page dots on the bottom of the SpringBoard to go to the next page. Tap to the left of the page dots to scroll left and tap to the right of the page dots to scroll right.

Snowman theme isn’t your typical Christmas theme… it’s more of a subtle Christmas feel. The theme contains around 35 custom icons however it has an icon mask which means it actually themes all icons (except Web Clips). It also contains a lock screen background, dock, wallpaper, sms background, Folders mod… etc. You can get Snowman Theme via the modmyi source. I’m still looking for the perfect Christmas theme. StayOpened is an application that keeps the App Store application open while the app downloads in the background. Normally, the App Store app closes as soon as you select “install” and then gives you the little pop-up for your iTunes password. This app keeps the App Store open. You still get the password pop-up but you get to stay in the App Store and the apps download in the background. This is helpful for those times when you want to give a few apps a try. Instead of closing, reopening, closing, reopening… you can just install them all!

MiDarkTheme is a dark theme (obviously) that contains 36 icons, a dock, status bar, lockscreen background, wallpaper, SMS mod, Safari mod, Phone mod, pop-up mod, Calculator mod, badges, page dots… etc. Overall it is a decently designed theme. There are a few things that could be a little cleaner… like the Safari loading mod but overall it’s not too bad. You can get MiDarkTheme via the modmyi source.

LinkShrink is an application that allows you to quickly shorten URLs. The app gives you the option to use one of four services to shorten your URL; TinyURL, is.gd, tr.im or rfly.me. Using the app is quick and easy… copy the URL you would like to shorten, open LinkShrink, paste your URL, choose your shortening service and click ‘Shorten URL.’ You are then able to copy the new shortened URL. The copied URL is put into your device’s clipboard and is ready to be pasted wherever you need it.

QuickLock 2 is a basically the original QuickLock mod updated for the iOS 4 firmware. Like the original, this mod allows you to quickly lock your device with one tap on your SpringBoard. Once the app is installed, it adds an icon to the SpringBoard. Just tap the icon and your device will go into lock mode. It’s quick and simple!

MatteFusionGZ is a simple and clean WinterBoard theme that contains 70 matte icons, a dock, status bar and badge. There are a few things to note about this theme.
The SMS icon is labeled incorrectly so the themed icon does not display when you active the theme in WinterBoard. To change this, you can ssh into (or use iFile on your device) the /library/Themes/MatteFusionGZ/Icons folder and rename Text.png to Messages.png. It will then display the themed SMS icon. Bliss is a WinterBoard theme that contains 100 icons, wallpaper, sliders, badges, dock, lock screen battery and a few other UI mods. The thing I like about this theme is it’s subtleness. The icons are simple, clean and easy to look at. The other UI mods are subtle but enough of a change to feel like your device has been modded. [Read more…]
RoughDraft is a WinterBoard theme that contains 34 icons, lock background, wallpaper, dock and badges. The few icons that it does contain are well designed. The only issue with the theme is that the badge does not display. It does contain a file for the badge however, in order for it to display correctly, you will need to do some ssh work.

If you are not a huge fan of the stock ‘Slide to Unlock’ slider but, do not want to get rid of the slider altogether, Slim Slide might be the mod for you. Slim Slide is a simple and clean slider that is activated/deactivated via WinterBoard. This might be a nice mod for those of you who have a lockscreen mod (such as LockInfo) and would like to have a slider that doesn’t take up as much of your lockscreen space.

I was mostly looking at this mod for the slider but it also comes with a wallpaper. Unfortunately you can’t change the wallpaper unless you do a little hacking. I use an app from Cydia called iFile. This lets me browse the file system and make tweaks to themes and other files. I just went into the themes folder and found the Apple Magic Mouse Lockscreen folder. There was a file called LockBackground.png. I just renamed it to LockBackground.pngx. You could name it anything really, or delete it. Of course this is all activated in Winterboard once it’s in stalled.
BTW, the real Magic Mouse is pretty kewl. I’ve hacked mine to give me some more features which makes it even better. The downfall is the price, $69.00.
