CMRA – Camera for Apple Watch

The Apple Watch doesn’t come with a built in camera (yet) but you can add one with this sweet watch band that includes not one, but two cameras! There is a selfie camera (2MP) and a outward facing camera (8MP). The band has to be charged on it’s own and it connects to your Apple Watch using Bluetooth. It can record about 30 minutes of video or about 100 photos. Not bad for a watch accessory. [Read more…]

Hyperlapse from Instagram – Timelapse App by Instagram

Instagram has released a new app called Hyperlapse that is a very customizable timelapse video app. Funny how it’s put out by Instagram even though they are owned by Facebook. And it’s titled “Hyperlapse from Instagram” not to be confused with the app title just “Hyperlapse” which is a different timelapse app sorta kinda… Anyway, this app is not just a timelapse app. If so, it would become pointless once iOS 8 comes out because it is part of the Camera app update. This app claims some very nice features like: in house stabilization, speed up your hyperlapse to be up to 12 times the speed and quick recording with no account needed. [Read more…]

olloclip – Clip on Fisheye, Wide-Angle & Macro Lens

Ok, so I’ve found more sweet products on for the iPhone and the next one I want to cover is a clip on lens called olloclip. It’s a great two in one lens that slides onto your iPhone and gives you fisheye, wide-angle & macro lenses. All you have to do is flip it around to switch between the lenses. Then just unscrew the wide angle lens to use the macro feature for 10x. The fisheye has about 180 Degree field-of-view while the wide-angle has double the normal view. If you support this project for $45 you can get your own. Or, once they are released they will be about $60 each. Check out the video and pics below. [Read more…]

FBphotoSave – Save Photos from Facebook Application to Camera Roll

FBphotoSave is a hack that allows you save photos from the Facebook application to your Camera Roll. Normally, the stock photo saving method that allows you to tap and hold on an image to save it to your device does not work in the Facebook application however FBphotoSave enables this feature.

It’s a super simple little hack. Once installed, you can use the hack by tapping and holding on any photo in the Facebook application. When you release your hold, you will get a pop-up with the options to Cancel the save or Confirm the save. If you select Confirm it will display a little HUD saying that the photo has been saved. You can then go into your Camera Roll and view the saved image.

Stealth Cam – Take Pictures & Video When iPhone is Locked [video]

I’ve been wanting a hack like this for a while. I’ve been in stores when I wish I could take video secretly. Now I can! The hack is called Stealth Cam and once installed its super easy. Just open your camera app, choose whether you want to take a picture or video, then lock your iPhone. Now just hit a volume button and it will take a pic or start the recording depending on which setting you’re on. If taking a video you can stop it with the volume button too. That’s it! Once you hit unlock you’ll be right back at the camera app. Now all I need is a hack that lets the camera record or stream in the background! [Read more…]

FaceMan Update

I talked about this app in episode 20 of i101 but the recent update was significant enough to write about it again. If you don’t remember, this app does what Photo Booth for the Mac does. It uses the front facing camera and adds silly effects. The update now allows you to use the rear camera too. It also added 4 new effects including AsciiArt (drawing the image with just letters, numbers and other ASCII characters), ModernArt, 100Me and NightVision. Check out the screenshots below for examples. There are a lot more features that were added so here’s the complete list: [Read more…]

This app allows you to take pictures or video with the volume buttons instead of trying to hit the little button on the screen. The news here is that it had been updated to work with 4.0 firmware so now you can use it to take HD 720p video! This is one of my top jailbreak apps that I just gotta have.
