1.1.3 Jailbreak – Live Blog

Jailbreak for 1.1.3 is out for the iPhone (this doesn’t work on the iPod Touch yet…) and I will be live blogging my experience here at AppleiPhoneSchool.com. Once I have it figured out see our Mod/Hack page for steps to Jailbreaking 1.1.3!

Here is the link to iBrickr Special 1.1.3: http://devices.natetrue.com/iphone/ibrickr-jb113.zip

LocateMe Update 0.5

LocateMe The update to LocateMe is pretty sweet! Now when you open the app, and it starts searching for your location, it tells you everything it is doing like…connecting, obtaining cell info and how many times it has tried, how many cell towers it found, how many cell towers it is using to find your location…and a few other things but it was going too fast and I couldn’t read them all!! Once it has found your location it will tell you how many cell towers it is using to find your location and it now tells you what Country you are in and what cell network it is using to find your location. There is also a bunch of information about the cell towers that are being used…I have absolutely no idea what the information means but, if you do, it is there for you! I personally am having some issues with this app since the update… [Read more…]

iGo Update 1.4 & 1.5

iGo There have been two update to this app since the last time I reviewed it and, they have added quite a few new features!! The first thing you will notice when you open the app is there are now buttons below the play board. These buttons allow you to go back one move, go forward one move(if you have gone back already), go back an entire turn, zoom out and zoom in. Also, when a new piece is added to the board it puts a little blue asterisk looking thing on top of the piece…I think this makes it easier to see where your opponent just moved. There have also been some additions to the Action menu. You can now view your score, load a previously saved gamed and save your current game (you can change the title of the game to whatever you would like it to be). Good updates! Below are the exact changes with each update and the screenshots.

iGo 1.5:
* zoom/scroll function
* ability to step through loaded games

Labyrinth Update 1.0.3

Labyrinth There are no visual changes with the update to Labyrinth 1.0.3. However, there were some other very important changes made to the app …the first (via the developer), “sub pixel rendering for smoother game play experience” and the second is that the setting files have been moved from the /var/root/Media/Labyrinth to the /var/root/Library/Labyrinth. You can get Labyrinth through the Installer.app in the Ste Packaging source. Below is the screenshot: :)

iZoo 1.0-2

iZoo iZoo is played like Bejeweled (I LOVE Bejeweled)…only with little zoo animal icons instead of jewels. When the app opens, there is a pop-up menu giving you the option to Donate Now or Donate Later. Once you have made your selection you will be brought to a blank play screen, to start a new game just tap Start in the upper left corner. The point of the game is to get at least three of the same animals in a row, either horizontally or vertically. You can only move one animal in order to make the three or more in a row. So, there already has to be two matching animals lined up in a way that you only need to add one more to make a row of three. To move an animal just tap and hold it and then drag it where you would like it. When you get three in a row… [Read more…]

iLyrics ENG Update 0.3-1

iLyrics ENG The changes with the update to iLyrics ENG 0.3-1 are visual changes…there are not any changes in how the app actually functions. The first change you will notice is a new icon! I always think new icons are fun!! Another really nice visual change is in the Settings Menu…there are now little pictures and icons next to the options under the Search Engine and About Lyrics.app settings. iLyrics ENG is available in the Installer.app through the iSpazio source. Below are the screenshots:

Pirate Costume 0.01

Pirate Costume is almost the same as Pirate only it adds a ton of new pieces to the wardrobe. Pirate costume is set-up just like the rest of the costumes in the DressUp app (for specific info on how to use costumes…check out the DressUp page.). When you install Pirate Costume…it will be put directly into DressUp and will not put an icon on your SpringBoard…it will show up as Pirate2 in the DressUp list (you have to have DressUp installed in order to view this app). Pirate Costume is available in the Installer.app through the Ste Packaging source. See the screeshots below to see all the new pieces.

Backgammon Update 2.1

Backgammon The update to Backgammon version 2.1 fixes a few bugs and adds a new feature that is good for someone like me who doesn’t know how to play backgammon very well!!…if you try to select pieces that can’t be played it will not let you select them! Below are the exact bug fixes via the Developer. This app is available in the Installer.app through the Ste Packaging source. Screenshot below:

– Bug fix: In vs.Human mode for Landscape view bearoff area for black checkers was in wrong place.

iBirthDay 1.2.1

iBirthDay iBirthDay is a really cool app that alerts you when someone in your contacts is having a Birthday. The app open to the main menu where you can; turn on/off that iBirthDay Service, set the time you would like the alert to happen, set when you would like to be alerted(anywhere from the day of the Birthday to 10 days before the Birthday) and turn on/off the SpringBoard text. If you turn the iBirthDay Service on, you will get a pop-up on your SpringBoard letting you know who’s Birthday is coming up, how many days until their Birthday and how old they are going to be. EvolutionRGB 0.93

EvolutionRGB This is another very addicting Toy, like iPhysics. RGB is a play on the meaning of RGB in the computer world…red, green and blue are the colors computer screens use to make the millions of colors. In this toy, red stands for fire, green for plants and blue for water. It’s a battle of who can survive. Water makes plants grow, but fire destroys it all. You can add just water, or a cloud that continues to pour water. Same with plants and fire. Add just a little or add seed or smelter to make continuous plants or fire. You can also add clay as a barrier or use the eraser if you want to change something. Also, the accelerometer is part of the action and by tilting the iPhone you control where water falls and which direction is up for flames to leap or plants to grow in. This really needs a video to describe it. See the video and screenshots below.

MobileToDoList 0.4

ToDoList MobileToDoList is exactly that…a mobile todo list. The app open to the main task list screen. There is already one default task listed…help beta-test, report bugs. To add a new task…tap on the plus button in the upper right corner. The first things you will want to enter is the Description of the task…for example…get groceries. You can then change the Creation Date and Due Date. When you select either of them…you will get the option to Unset the Date…which just leaves it blank…or you can choose the date you would like by using the scrolly wheel. Once you have set your date just tap Back in the upper left corner. You can also set the tasks priority from 9 to 1…1 is the highest priority and 9 is the lowest priority. This will add the priority level next the task…if you would rather not have a priority level next to the task…you can select 9 which leaves it blank. The last option [Read more…]

Caissa Update 0.86

Caissa There are some really cool new features with the update to Caissa! When you go into the Options menu you will notice that there is a new option called Letters…if you tap on it you are given the option to choose None or Original. If you choose original it will put corresponding numbers(vertically) and letters(horizontally) on the playing board…that way when someone moves or the game gives you a hint of e2d3 you know what it is talking about!! If you do not want the letters on the board…just select none. Now…the coolest part of the update! [Read more…]

iApp-a-Day Updates

There were quite a few updates in the Installer.app for iApp-a-Day apps. Collage, Drum, Hum, Level, Mixup and Sleigh all had updates. The updates do not make any drastic changes to the apps…just a few small things like removing the donate option from the menus. But…maybe we will see more from Sean in the future!! Below are the screenshots:
