LiveTime – Animated Clock Icon

LiveTime is an application that animates and updates the clock icon on your SpringBoard…allowing it to continually display the current time. When you install LiveTime, it will automatically begin to animate your clock icon. The hour and minute hand will show the current time and the second hand will move accordingly. Now, when you first install the application, it is an overlay on your stock icon. So, you will see the stock time (10:15 and 0 seconds) underneath the animated clock. However, when you installed LiveTime, it also added a theme to WinterBoard titled; LiveTime Clock. Doodles – Drawing Application

Doodles is a simple drawing application that is available in Cydia via the iSpazio source. When you first open the application you will get a white page with a lower menu bar…this is actually the main drawing page of the application. The options on the lower menu bar are (left to right); Save, Background Options, Line Options, Symmetry Options and Erase.

The Background option allows you to choose a background for your drawing. You can choose a solid color, a photo out of your Photo Albums or you can take a picture. The only issue I have with this option is that once you have selected a background, there is no way to delete it. You can change the background if you have chosen a color background but you cannot erase the background and if you set a photo as the background or taken a photo for the background you can neither change it nor erase it. Streamcaster – Download and Watch Video Podcasts

Streamcaster is a new application that allows you to subscribe to video podcast feeds and watch them on your iPhone or iPod Touch. When you open Streamcaster, you will get the main menu. To add a podcast’s feed to the application, select the + icon in the upper right corner. This will bring you to a screen where you can enter the feed’s url (don’t forget the http://). Once you have entered the feed url, you will be brought back to the main menu where you will see that your podcast has been added to the list. [Read more…]

MCallShow 1.1

There has been another release for MCallShow. I tend to keep an eye on the updates for this application because in the past it has never worked quite right for me so, I like to check out the updates to see if things have improved. MCallShow is an application which gives you more detailed location based information about incoming and outgoing calls. It seems that the user interface has not drastically changed however, the database for the application has changed. It used to be when you opened the app, it would automatically find your local Country. Now it seems that you need to actually install the database for your Country. The current Country databases include, Australia, China, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Thailand. There website says that there is also a database for the USA/Canada but, I did not see that is Cydia. [Read more…]

Skrew Common and vWallpaper/vRingtones

Well, it seems that while I was traveling, we finally got one of the apps that many of you have been waiting for…vWallpaper/vRingtones. I gave the app a try and it seems to work great! One new feature in the vWallpaper section is that you can now add a picture mask to your wallpaper. The video wallpaper will then show behind the picture mask. Another feature that I really like is the ability to preview the wallpapers and picture masks before setting them. The only thing it needs now is the ablity to view a vWallpaper before you download it. That would be nice!

The vRingtones part of the application works well too. For some reason these apps seem to run a lot smoother now. When I had them on version 1.1.4 and below they were always a little sketchy but, they seem to work great on firmware 2.0 and above.

iSpazio DockFlow

iSpazio DockFlow is a mod that I noticed last night. It changes your dock icons giving them a cover flow look. It actually looks pretty cool however, there are a few restrictions with it. You need to have a five icon dock, the icons have to be specific icons in a specific order (Safari, SMS, Phone, Mail and iPod) and you cannot use it with other mods such as Stack. But, if you are willing to deal with these restrictions is does look pretty cool. Once installed, you will need to activate it via WinterBoard.

New SummerBoard Themes

There are a few new SummerBoard themes in the Installer. Two of the new themes (Radiance and Soft) are available via the iSpazio source. Does anyone who upgraded to 2.0 like seriously miss their jailbroken iPhone?? I know I do! At least we have a test iPhone that is still jailbroken so I don’t feel quite as restricted!

TourDeFrance 0.2

The update to version 0.2 of Le Tour de France, a Tour de France guide, makes a few changes to the application. The first change you will notice is that the application has a new icon. A very nice new icon I must say. When the application opens, you will find two new options on the main intro screen…the ability to view the app in French and a ChangeLog option. Once you have selected a language and are in the main menu, you will see two new options; L!ve and Ratings. Both of which are viewable via Edge, WiFi or 3G networks. The L!ve option will give up-to-date information during the races via Tour de France Official or Eurosport UK. All you will need to do is choose one and then select the Live button. Like applications Euro2008 – a European Football Associations Guide and Formula1 – a Formula1 Guide, TourDeFrance is a Guide for le Tour de France. The application will open to the main screen in which you can select your language, as of right now, only English is available. Though, I’m sure we will see more languages added with future updates. Once you have selected your language you will be brought to the main menu here you will see the options; News, Teams with Drivers, Race Calendar, Race Info, Race Map, Last 10 “Winners”, Credits and Select Your Language.
