biteSMS 1.15

biteSMS The update to biteSMS adds French and German translations! So, that is cool. It also changes the the order of the SMS Conversations so that they are in the same order as the Stock SMS application. Which is good for someone like me who uses both the stock SMS app and biteSMS for texting…it makes it much easier to find the conversation I am looking for! There were also a few bug fixes. The bug fixes include; fixed bug where credit voucher SMS was not accredited correctly and fixed bug where SMS text containing ‘>’ and ‘<’ could cause biteSMS to exit. Other than that, [Read more…]

biteSMS – Personal Experience

biteSMS I used biteSMS for the first time today!! YAY! As many of you already know, I had purchased some biteSMS credits a while back and had not received them. I had planned on emailing them however, I have been too busy to do so. Well, today I received an email from them! Yes, from them. It was just a follow up email saying that they had noticed that I hadn’t used any of my credits and they were just checking to make sure I had received them and that biteSMS was working for me. Talk about customer service! Well, as it turns out, I had typed my phone number incorrectly and that is why I hadn’t received my credits. After I wrote them back with the correct phone number, [Read more…]

BeenThere 0.12

BeenThere I only notice two visual change in the update to version 0.12 of BeenThere. On the main menu page, the options have been reordered. The Picture option if now first followed by the Title, Message, Tags and GeoLoc. I think this makes a lot more sense. They have also added a BeenThere! option in the upper left corner. If selected, it will bring you directly to the BeenThere website. A very smart implimentation! BeenThere is avialable through the Trivalware source.

Twitxr 0.6

Twitxr The only visual change that I see with the update to version 0.6 of Twitxr is that in the preferences you can now Create a New User. When you create a new user, it will sign you out of your current login. It would be cool if it listed both of them and you could just choose the user you wanted. Other than that, the app seems to function the same as in previous versions. Twitxr is available through the BigBoss source.

fring for iPod Touch (version 0.9786)

fring Many of you are familiar with fring and as you know frig was developed for the iPhone however, they have had a ton of requests to make it more compatible with the iPod Touch. Well, you asked and they delivered. Today, version 0.9786 of fring was released making it compatible with the iPod Touch. Here is what the developer has to say:

Just like the original version created for the iPhone, this is the same special pre-release R&D version with some chat bugs fixed so now you can mobile internet chat & interact in fring-style on your iPod touch (I know I am stating the obvious… but as there is no Microphone the iPod touch…. it means no fring calls as well).

Doug and I also found that this version works a lot smoother for us. He was able to call Skype on my computer, I was able to call his iPhone from Skype on my computer and we were able to call from iPhone to iPhone using fring. Very, very cool! fring is vailable through the fring source.

Below is a video of the developer using fring on an iPod Touch.

SkySMS 1.0.7

SkySMS I do not see any visual changes with the update to version 1.0.7 of SkySMS. I thought maybe the updated would add additional carriers. But, from what I can tell, everything is the same. SkySMS is available through the iSpazio source.

PhoneZap 1.3.7

PhoneZap This update to PhoneZap claims to have fixed all bugs when creating ringtones! I did have a few issues after installing the update…every time I opened the application, it would just close back to the SpringBoard. So, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it which fixed the problem. Once in the application, I was able to easily create a ringtone and save it. However, I can not for the life of me get the ringtones I create to set as my ringtone! I go into Settings/Sounds/Ringtone and choose my ringtone…it plays the preview just fine but, [Read more…]

biteSMS 1.14

biteSMS The update to biteSMS adds a very cool new feature…the ability to forward text massages!! When you are in a SMS Conversation, just swipe on the text you would like to forward. This will bring up a pop-up giving your the option to forward the message or to cancel. If select forward, it open a new window where you can choose who you would like the text to forward to. Very cool new feature! Another fixes that I was glad to see was that when your iPhone auto corrects a word…they are will always be visible now! There were also a few other changes (see list below). biteSMS is available through the Ste Packaging source. Screenshots below.

PhoneZap 1.2.9

PhoneZap Since the last version of PhoneZap, you are now able to delete comments posted on your Zaps. Which is definitely a nice feature. They have also implemented a filter that keeps inappropriate images from being displayed in the public Zapz. Another great feature! Besides those two features, there have also been a number of bug fixes. And, I have actually noticed a pretty decent improvement in the functionally of the application. I do not get nearly as much glitching as in the previous version. PhoneZap is available through the AppTapp source.

biteSMS 1.12

biteSMS The update to biteSMS adds a SMS Counter. When you open biteSMS and then open one of your chat conversations, you will notice a new little icon in the lower left corner. That is the new SMS Counter. Other than that, there are no visual changes to the application. I have yet to actually use this application because I never received the credits I purchased. I will have to email them again! Maybe I will do that today! Did anyone else have issues with receiving their credits after purchasing them? Let me know in the comments! biteSMS is available through the Ste Packaging source.

There is also a Important New and Updates link. If selected, you will get a nice little warning about posting inappropriate material and more information about the application which goes through some features that will be implement in the next 24-48 hours and some of the known bugs (see screenshots). biteSMS 1.11-1

biteSMS We have had a few people ask about this application. biteSMS is an app that lets you purchase SMS credits and use those instead of texting through your Mobile Carrier. When you install biteSMS it will add an icon to your SpringBoard. When you open the app, it will look similar to the stock SMS application on your iPhone. When you select a conversation, you will notice a an arrow in the lower right corner, it will bring you to the Settings menu for biteSMS. In the Settings you have the option you can choose to send your text via biteSMS or your Mobile Carrier, you can see how many credits you have left, whether or not you want biteSMS to be your default text application and the ability to reset the counter. If you select Buy Credits, [Read more…]

iSlsk 0.1b-1

iSlskThis application does not work correctly yet. At first Doug was getting this error “Your firmwareGUID couldn’t be recognized, and therefore, music importing will not be avaiable“. However, he was able to fix this error by creating a folder a var/root.media/downloads folder and setting it’s permissions to 777. He was then able to download and save the songs in the application. However, when he goes to import them into his iPod the app just closes to the SpringBoard. The developer says [Read more…]
