biteSMS 1.18

biteSMS The update to version 1.18 of biteSMS, a SMS replacement application, adds some cool new features. When you open the application and swipe on a text message, you now get a pop-up with the option to forward that message or delete it. In the previous version you were only able to forward a message. Another new features is multiple SIM support because the credits are linked to a SIM. The feature that I am most excited about is the ability to restore your credits right from the application!! I always feel bad when I email them to send me my credits AGAIN…due to the fact that I restore my iPhone so often. If you go into the Setting menu, you will see an option called Lost Your Credits. When selected, [Read more…]

iDynDNS 1.0-1

iDynDNSWhen this app came out Brooke asked me right away, what’s dyndns. I said, “I should probably do this review.” :) DynDNS is a website that provides a lot of services. The service I use from them and also the service linked with this app is the ability to make a domain name point to a IP address that isn’t always the same. For example, my home internet is a DSL connection. The IP address changes every once in a while and if I want to remote desktop into it from somewhere else I’d have to know the IP address. With DynDNS and iDynDNS you can create a unique name that you’ll remember and it will point you to your iPhone.

First I went to dyndns.org to create an account. You’ll want to go to this page to get started: https://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/. Once you set up an account you’ll want to enter in your info. For the host name type something you’ll remember and pick a domain from the drop down. This whole thing will now be your link to your iPhone’s IP instead of a number. So like myiphone.homeip.net instead of 192.168.2.12. Pick “Host with IP” then enter your iPhone’s current IP address. This should show up at the bottom of the iDynDNS app. [Read more…]

iSlsk The update to version 0.3 of iSlsk, a file sharing application, adds quite a few changes to the application. AgileMessenger 1.0.20

AgileMessenger The only change I notice with the update to version 1.0.20 of AgileMessenger is that there is now a Code Page option in the Preferences feature in the main menu. It allows you to change the national character encoding option for ICQ. When selected, you will get a list of all the Code Page options. Let me know in the comments about any other changes you might see. AgileMessenger is available through the ModMyiFone source.

AgileMessenger 1.0.16 – Multi Service Chat Application

AgileMobileThis is the mobile messaging application we’ve all been waiting for. AgileMessenger is a multi service chat application that includes ICQ, MSN, AOL, Yahoo!, Jabber and GoogleTalk. This application is smooth, works over edge or wifi, has tons of features, runs in the background more. Yes, running in the background is going to effect your battery but this can be changed in the Preferences. The interface is great and the tab feature works great.

My only complaint is the sound effects. The current sound is a little annoying and once a sound is made my audio becomes all muffled. It would be sweet if each service had their own original sound effect. I made a quick video to show you how great this really is. You can get AgileMessenger through the ModMyiFone source.

Watch “AgileMessenger” on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

biteSMS 1.16

biteSMS The update to biteSMS adds two languages; Italian and Dutch. It also changes the SMS counter, at the bottom of the screen, so that it displays the total credits it will use to send the text message. This has been changed to account for the ability to forward text messages to multiple contacts. Which does make more sense. I must say, I am still a big fan of this application. It is simple, easy-to-use and well developed. biteSMS is available through the BigBoss source.

MobileTwitter 1.5.2

MobileTwitter The update to version 1.5.2 of MobileTwitter adds a new Update First option in the Settings. If you toggle on Update First…when you open the application it will open directly to the Update section. Which I think is a great new feature. When I open a twitter application on my iPhone it is usually because I would like to twitter something and then I go in and read all the tweets. I think I am actually going to start using MobileTwitter. I have not been happy with Twinkle’s performance lately. Though, they are still a few things I like to see changed in MobileTwitter… [Read more…]
