Yesterday, there was an update to the WeatherIcon mod… a mod that displays the current temperature and weather conditions on your Weather icon or Statusbar. The update, “Fixed incompatibility with Battery Control when both the battery and percentage are hidden.”
Battery Control is an application that provides additional Statusbar battery options. I personally don’t think I experienced this bug but, if you did, now there is a fix for it! [Read more…]

The developer of the App Store Facebook application has released some more info on what the 3.0 update will look like and include. Below is a list of the new features that are in the update that has been submitted to Apple as well as a some screenshots. It seems the the i.TV is going to be getting quite the update. Version 2.0 of the application is boasting all sorts of few new features including; Remote Control, TiVo Remote, New UI, Push Notifications and iTunes integration.

iHandy:) was recently updated to version 1.0.3. The update adds an Emoji option. The Emoji option allows the ability to turn on/off the Emjoicon keyboard. It is not necessary to have Emoji’s already installed in order to use this option… when you install/update iHandy:) it automatically installs them for you. Once you have the Emoji option turned on in iHandy;), you can turn on the Emoji keyboard by going into your stock Settings application, General, Keyboard, International Kayboards, Japanese and turning on the Emoji option. Turn turn off the Emoji keyboard, just go back into iHandy:) and toggle the Emoji option off. [Read more…]

WinterBoard has been updated to version 0.9.2958-2. According to saurik, the developer; “The newly released 0.9.2958 versions of MobileSubstrate and WinterBoard (upgraded to support ARM7/Thumb2) should now work on the iPhone 3GS.” So, YAY! Let us know in the comments how the update does for you. For those of you who do not have an iPhone 3GS….you will still want to upgrade to the new version of WinterBoard. There have been a few updates to the WeatherIcon mod since the last time I wrote about it. The updates were mostly bug fixes but, the update to 2.1.14 caught my eye. The update says, “This release “should” fix issues that people were seeing with phones running on EDGE that had incoming call issues. I got reports of problems with calls being dropped, no audio, and other oddities. This release should handle that more gracefully.” [Read more…]

Cydia has been update to version 1.0.2953-59. The update adds the letters back into the Search menu as well as in the Manage > Packages option. I’m love having the letters back on the right side of the Search…it makes thing so much easier and faster. I also noticed that you can do a cool scroll with the letter in the Search as well….just hold your finger on the letters and scroll up and down. Let me know in the comments if you notice anything else with the update.

I don’t know about you guys but, I was totally stoked to see an update to Tweetie…in which Apple finally approved, two and half weeks after it was submitted (no surprise there!). Tweetie is my favorite Twitter application and it has been driving me crazy that the search has been broken since the dreaded Twitpocalypse. It seems that they have worked out all the Twitpocalypse bugs and Tweetie is back to functioning normally! YAY! The developer also says that there is a “news on the next “big” update coming soon.”

There was another update to the WeatherIcon mod. The updated says that it adds “more 3.0 compatibility.” When I tested it, I was able to enable the Status Bar Image and Temp but, they are not aligned correctly. They are too high on the Status Bar and are only partially visible.
The update does make the app compatible with the 2.2 firmware again. When I installed the update on an iPhone running 2.2, it did not go into Safe Mode and both the Icon and Status Bar worked correctly. So, you should be safe to install it now. [Read more…]

The WeatherIcon mod (a mod that allows the current temperature and weather conditions to be displayed on your weather icon) has been updated to version 2.1.2 which allows it to work on the 3.0 firmware. The status bar part of the mod still is not working on 3.0 but, at least the icon part of the mod is!
When I first installed WeatherIcon, on my iPhone running 3.0, it went into safe mode. I restarted the SpringBoard again, as prompted by the safe mode pop-up, and it worked fine. The same thing happened when I updated the mod on an iPhone running 2.2 firmware as well (safe mode, restarted, worked fine).

Cydia has been updated to version 1.0.2948-58. I know a few of you were having issues with Cydia crashing a lot…hopefully this update fixes that! The update does seem to make Cydia run a little smoother. I was hoping it would fix the issues in which no letters are displayed when you search but, it doesn’t seem to. eBay Mobile has recently updated to version 1.3. Lots of new features, a big one, leaving feedback for sellers and buyers.
There’s also a link to see a seller’s other items. This is nice when you find something you’re looking for and want to see what else the seller might have. You could not do this before. Another of my favorite features of this update is the ability to see search results for more than 100 items. Usually you would search and 25 items would appear in the list with a link to load 25 more. After 100 loaded it would stop searching. Now it goes on and on! [Read more…]

To keep up-to-date on the SBSettings, there have been two more updates recently. The updates 2.99-3 & 2.99-4 had one bug fix and added one new option:
• A bug fix so that you cannot type in the mobile substrate text box
and
• The ability to hide the hold indicator, that is the little hand image on the icons that support the hold feature (which is currently only available on the 3.x firmware). [Read more…]
