5-Row QWERTY Keyboard

SettingsIf you hate tapping the button to switch your keyboard between numbers and letters, 5-Row QWERTY Keyboard is for you! It simply creates another keyboard layout that you can enable from your Settings app that has a fifth row of keys at the top. Colorful Round Signal Bars Mod

WinterBoard Colorful Round Signal Bars is a mod that changes the signal bars on your Status Bar (those are the bars that display the signal quality you are receiving from your carrier). There are a few of these type of mods in Cydia but, I find this one to be nicely designed. So, if you are looking for a change…you might want to check it out. This mod is activated/deactivated in WinterBoard and is available via the ModMyi source.

White Calculator Mod

WinterBoard calculator-white2 Personally, I’m not huge on calculator mods. I actually use my calculator quite frequently so, I’m not sure why I’m not big on modding it. However, every once and a while I find a decent mod. Calculator-White is a mod that gives your calculator a white theme and give the buttons more of a handwritten look. One thing I like is that it also mods the extended calculator (when you turn your iPhone to landscape mode while in the Calculator application). Calculator-White is activated/deactivated via WinterBoard and is available via the Apple-News.fr source. Screenshots below.

Progress Bar Mods – Change Color of Download Progress Fill

Progress Bar Mods progresscolors6 Below are a few mods that change the color of your download progress fill bar when you are installing an application from the App Store. Not to be confused with the Safari Progress Bar mod. There are a few colors available for this mod. One packages titled Progress Colors allow you the ability to to change your progress bar yellow, red, purple, orange, green, black or cool gray. LiveClock Invisible Icon

Clock I know many of you use the LiveClock mod. However, one disadvantage of the LiveClock mod is that it does not always match your current theme. With the WeatherIcon mod, at least you have the option for a transparent background (which I almost always use) allowing the mod to work with almost any theme. No Clock – Remove Status Bar Time

No Clock No Clock is a mod that removes the time from your status bar. This is nice for the themes that display the time and date on the SpringBoard (which there are quite a few of!). This mod is available through the ModMyi source and is activate/deactivated in WinterBoard. I did not have any issues when activating or deactivating this app.

Valentine Rating – Star Rating Mod

Valentine Rating Valentine’s Day is less than a week a way (I hope all you guys are preparing!!) and if you are looking for one more way to get into the holiday spirit…this just might be the mod for you! Valentine Rating is a rating star mod. When you delete an App Store app off of your iPhone or iPod Touch, you get the chance to give it a 1-5 star rating. This mod changes the those stars to red hearts. It is available through the ModMyi source and is activated via Cydia.

Remember: Guys, if you are getting your special someone some sort of technology for Valentine’s Day, make sure you throw in a box of chocolates or some flowers too. Take it from a girl who gets technology for almost every Holiday! :)

BlueIslandLock – Lock Screen from the Blue-Island Theme

WinterBoard blueislandlock2 Last week, I wrote about a theme called Blue-Island. The theme itself did not work unless you had a French iPhone or iPod Touch however, you were able to use the lock screen from the theme if you listed things correctly in WinterBoard. Well, it seems the developer has made it easy on us and released just the lock screen part of the theme! Copper Stars – Star Rating Mod

Copper Stars Copper Stars is actually a pretty cool mod. When you delete an App Store app off of your iPhone or iPod Touch, you get the chance to give it a 1-5 star rating. This mod changes the color of those stars. Honestly, I think this is the first of this type of mod. It is acutally pretty cool. Copper Stars is activated via WinterBoard and is available via the modmyi source.

HomeScreen2.0 – Lock Screen Mod

As many of you know, I am on the hunt for the perfect lock screen mod. In doing some other modding…I ran across HomeScreen2.0 by aldwin on MacThemes2.net. It is a very simple and clean lock screen that displays the current time, date, weather and any missed events (text, call, email…etc). You can also tap on the date to see a month calendar view and you can tap on the weather to see a full week weather forecast.

I have been messing with this mod on and off for about a week now and I think I’m finally to a point where I have gotten it to work correctly so, I thought I would pass it along. Blue-Island – Lock Screen Mod

WinterBoard blueislandtheme3 I am continuously on the lookout for a good lock screen theme. I was doing some modding last night and I ran across this theme…Blue-Island via the Apple-News.fr source (this source can be installed via Cydia in the More Package Sources section…check out THIS post for more info).

Blue-Island is a theme that has a very nice lock screen. It is a simple lock screen that displays the time and any missed events (calls, texts, new mail…etc). A quick note before I get started…this is theme is via a French repo so, the theme itself will not work for you unless you are French however, the lock screen works even if you are not French. Reflective Dock Mod Updated to Support WeatherIcon Mod

Reflective Dock The ReflectiveDock mod, via the david.ashman.com source, was updated a few days ago allowing the reflective dock to correctly reflect the WeatherIcon mod. I finally had a chance to test it and it works great. If you are someone who likes to have your weather icon in your dock and you use the RefelectiveDock mod…then you are good to go. Smoog Theme – Background for WeatherIcon Mod

WinterBoard smoogweatherbackground2 It seems that quite a few themes have been getting updated lately to accommodate both the LiveClock and WeatherIcon mods. One theme that I have always been a fan of has received one of these updates! You are now able to install a weather icon for the Smoog theme (via BigBoss) that supports the WeatherIcon mod. The title of the package is Smoog Weather Icon Background and it is available via the david.ashman.com source. If you are also a fan of the LiveClock mod, you can choose the Live lock Dark option in WinterBoard and it looks decent with the theme as well. Though, I would love to see another update that adds an icon that is actually compatible with the LiveClock mod. [Read more…]

LiveTime – Animated Clock Icon

LiveTime LiveTime is an application that animates and updates the clock icon on your SpringBoard…allowing it to continually display the current time. When you install LiveTime, it will automatically begin to animate your clock icon. The hour and minute hand will show the current time and the second hand will move accordingly. Now, when you first install the application, it is an overlay on your stock icon. So, you will see the stock time (10:15 and 0 seconds) underneath the animated clock. However, when you installed LiveTime, it also added a theme to WinterBoard titled; LiveTime Clock. If you go into WinterBoard and activate the theme, it will change the icon so that you only see the animated clock. [Read more…]

WinterBoard Themes – Themes, Key Highlight Mods and a Wallpaper Pack

WinterBoard I’m still catching up on all the themes/mods that have been released lately. But, I got through another section of them and below are a few I thought I would mention. There are 4 themes, 3 key highlight mods and one wallpaper pack. The four themes include; Pump (via Sleepers.net), CLoud9 (via BigBoss), Abeo Alistair (via MacCiti) and Flat (via MacCiti). The key highlight mods will change the color of the keys on the keyboard when you select them. The three shown in the screenshots below include; Purple and Pink Highlight Keys, Camo Highlight Keys and Red and Black Highlight Keys…all of which are available through the Sleepers.net source. I actually really like key highlight mods…it is so weird to see a different color when you type! The wallpaper pack, MoMa Pack 1 (via MacCiti) contains eight unique wallpapers.
