Many of you may remember RemindYou, a lock screen calendar app, from firmware 1.1.4 and below. It seems the app has made it’s way to the 2.x firmware. However, this time I can actually get it to work which is nice because with firmware 1.1.4 and below we could never get this application to work for us. When you open the application, you will get a list of Settings. Here you are able to change things like; font, font size, font color, 24 hour time, dim wallpaper…etc. However, I can’t seem to get a few of the settings to work. Any setting with an arrow next to it will not launch. This includes; Font, Font Color and Registration. All of the other Settings work just fine.

Today a new mod was released (via ModMyiFone) called QuickUnlock. Don’t be confused, they’re talking about Lock Screens, not GUI SIM Card unlocks! What it does is it allows easy access to your springboard by simply tapping the Home button 3 times consecutively. When you tap it 3 times, it temporarily shows your springboard for 10 seconds (unless the Home button is tapped again or an app is launched) and locks again. It installed easily and works like a charm. The only concern is you have to press the Home button pretty fast to trigger it. This is a great mod to use when you quickly have to access something.

LogoMe is an application that allows you to change your boot logo image right from your iPhone or iPod Touch (no need to restore, rejailbreak or use an application on your computer). When you install LogoMe, you will get the main screen. When you open the application it will download all the “necessary files.” Once it is finished, you can select the Select Logo option on the lower menu bar. From here you will need to enter a url in which the image is located (see screenshots below). Once you have entered the url, select Download.

Extended Preferences is an application that adds additional functionality to your Settings options. When you install Extended Preferences, it will be added to WinterBoard. You will need to go into WinterBoard and select it in order to activate the app. Once you have selected Extended Preferences in WinterBoard, you can go into your stock Settings application to see all the features it has added.
Some of the additional features are obvious such as a Usage option added just below your Wallpaper option. The Usage option displays the Time since last full charge, Call Time and Cellular Network Data. Another obvious addition is the SpringBoard option which allows you to turn on/off Show Internal Apps, Show YouTube and App Reveal Mode. It also always you to turn on/off Fake Signal Bars (for iPod Touches) and Fake Time. The Fake Time and Fake Carrier options allow you to overwrite the stock Time and Carrier with your own custom info. You are also able to turn on/off Numeric Battery and WiFi. I love these options! If turned on, they allow you to tap your battery or WiFi icons to get the percentages.

When I checked Cydia this morning I noticed a new Vibrus application. Vibrus is an application that makes your keyboard vibrate as you type on your keyboard or dialer. The vibration length is even configurable! It allows you to turn on/off the Haptic Keyboard and the Haptic Dialer. It also allows you to adjust the Intensity and Duration of the vibrate. I was going to install it an noticed that it will only works with 2G iPhone’s (3G iPhone support coming soon). That made me think about KeyVib another application that is very similar to Vibrus and is available for the 3G iPhone. [Read more…]

Now, this is an application that many of you have probably been waiting for!! I personally use IntelliScreen for my status bar notifications but, if you do not use IntelliScreen…this is perfect for you! StatusNotifier adds an icon to your status bar (the bar at the top of your iPhone with the carrier logo on it) if you have a missed email, text, call or voicemail. This is very similar to the Taskbar Notifier application for firmware 1.1.4 and below.
StatusNotifier is a code application so, when you install it there will not be an icon to your SpringBoard and it will automatically start adding the notification icons to your status bar. [Read more…]

Happy Monday!! It seems there have been a few apps added to Cydia over the week-end but, lets start with Stack. We have know for a little while now that the developer of Stack was getting close to a release and it seems it has finally arrived!
Stack is an application that will stack applications on the lower right of your iPhone screen. When you tap the stack, it will display the apps (think Leopard). You can then select the Settings icon (when the stack is out) and it will give you a few options. The Settings option includes the ability to turn on a curved stack or grid stack (see screenshots below). I actually really like the grid option but, I had an issue with getting into the Settings while using the grid option. I don’t know if you experienced they same thing or not, but it was basically impossible to get back into the Settings!! I was able to get into the Settings by removing a few of the icons from my Dock. [Read more…]

In the last few days, there have been a few updates to IntelliScreen. The updates do not add any new features, they are just bug fixes. Below you will find the complete list of bug fixes for both versions. I have noticed that on my lock screen sometimes my passcode will display behind all the info on my lock screen. I can still enter my passcode and it works…I think it is just a glitch, it happens randomly!! [Read more…]

There is an update to IntelliScreen 2.2, a lock screen enhancing application, in Cydia today. Below is a complete list of changes, bug fixes and known problems. One things that I did find interesting is that the update is said to make IntelliScreen compatible with firmware 2.1 however, Doug and I have both been using IntelliScreen on our 2.1 for a while now and it seemed to work fine. So, I’m not sure what the deal is with that.
One cool new feature includes a new vibration alert that will vibrate with; Mail=2 fast beeps, SMS=2 slow beeps, Call/VM=3 beeps, Calendar=4 beeps. Another cool new feature is that after you make your changes in IntelliScreen, it no longer resprings the SpringBoard. After you make the change and select Apply, the app just closes. It is kind of weird at first because you expect it to respring but I definitly like it!! They also say that that overall InteillScreen is [Read more…]
KeyVib 1.0

If you liked iPhone haptics then you’ll be happy to hear that the feature is back in Cydia from KeyVib. KeyVib makes your iPhone vibrate for anytime you type. I installed it late last night and I couldn’t get it to work but after turning on and off airplane mode it started working today. I can’t tell if I like it or not. Sometimes it doesn’t vibrate exactly when you hit a key. I have also been having problems getting it to stay running. It will just randomly start working. I have quite a few apps installed from both Cydia, Installer and the App Store so I’m not sure yet what is effecting it.
Update: I figured out that when you are switched to silent mode, it is disabled. Seems to work fine now, just can’t be in silent mode.
