QuickScroll is now available in Cydia. QuickScroll is an application that allows you to quickly scroll in a page. We did a pre-release review of this application a few days ago… you can see it HERE.
The app is pretty easy to use. Once installed, you hold one finger on the page and then triple tap with another finger. This will bring up the box that displays where you are on the page and allows the ability to quickly scroll to another section of the page (by dragging the green box). Etched Base Theme is a WinterBoard theme that contains 199 icons, chat bubbles, badges, pop-ups, wallpapers, dock, lock screen wallpaper and status bar. There are a few cool things about this theme; it contains a matching theme for SBSettings, it is compatible with both the LiveClock and WeatherIcon mods and it has an Extras folder that contains all sorts of extra things. The Extras folder contains 6 additional docks, 16 additional lock screen wallpapers, 5 additional status bars, 17 additional wallpapers, an icon template and a file on how to use the template. The Extra folder is location in the Library/Themes/Etched-Base folder. BossPaper, a wallpaper applications, is now out of beta and has been released in the main BigBoss source. BossPaper is a dynamic wallpaper application that gives the user full control over their wallpaper.
When enabled, wallpaper allows you to choose a solid color wallpaper, a single image wallpaper or the ability to rotate through multiple images. Wallpapers can be chosen from any folder on your iPhone or iPod touch. They can quickly be added from a BossPaper wallpaper pack (installed seperately in Cydia), from your Camera Roll, from your stock Wallpaper section, you can choose a wallpaper that is in a theme in WinterBoard or, you can browse the folders on your device and choose any image. Maps Enhancer is an application that adds a few more options to the stock Maps app. Once installed, you can go into your stock Settings applications and you will find MapEnhancer.
The Maps Enhancer app adds the ability to keep your Maps cache and the ability to set the maximum zoom level for Standard, Satellite and Hybrid maps. An iPhone Dev Team Application has been released in Cydia. The application allows you to view the Dev-Team’s website, twitter account and torrents right in the application. It is an easy way to stay up-to-date on the Dev-Team. I did notice that the Torrents option doesn’t seem to work but, the other two options (Blog and Twitter) do. The article includes bug reports (when, if and how they will be fixed), feature requested (when, if and how they will be implemented) and closed out issue reports. iFall Theme is a theme that contains 35 gray icons, a wallpaper, dock, slider, page dots and status bar. The theme is missing a Maps icon. I checked the file for the theme and it doesn’t seem to include one which is kind of a bummer. The More Info for the theme says that there is a .psd file (template) but, I could find one. “iDitDahText is a keyboard alternative for the iPhone and iPod touch that allows you to enter characters by tapping their Morse code.” This is just an informational post, I have not purchased this application because even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to tell you how to use it because I know nothing about Morse code. :) However, I figured some of you might and therefore might be interested in iDitDahText. It is actually a pretty crazy application. Below is a description of the application and a demo video.
iDitDahText is a keyboard alternative for the iPhone and iPod touch that allows you to enter characters by tapping their Morse code. The interface is a dual lever touch paddle (which also can be used as single lever paddle), coupled to an iambic keyer and decoder. Please watch the video on youtube for details along with a demonstration of text being entered at 50 WPM. iDitDahText also provides a plugin for a game called Typing Sebastian: a simple, fun way to learn how to use Morse code with iDitDahText. BigBoss recently released a new source in Cydia, bigbossbetarepo. The source will contain beta/alpha/test applications. This is not a repo that everyone will want to install. If you install the source, you need to be willing to test applications and give feedback about there performance. Because the apps released in this repository are test and beta, they do have the possibility of crashing your iPhone or iPod Touch (thus, requiring a restore). [Read more…]

iProtect is a recently released security application for your iPhone or iPod Touch. It allows you to password protect applications, lock your SIM, disable the ability to move icons around on the SpringBoard, disable the application to delete application off the SprigBoard and the ability to disable the Home Button double-tap.
When you first open the application, you will need to enter a password and a security word. Once you are in the application, you can choose to lock All Applications, Unlock All Applications or choose to lock specific applications. You can lock both App Store and Cydia apps. [Read more…]

Once you install the application, and accept the agreement, you can enter the From Name, From email address, Subject, To Name and To Email address. Once all fields have been filled, select Next.
