Battery Control – Turn on/off Statusbar Battery Icon and Percentage

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Battery Control Battery Control is a simple application that allows you to turn on/off the Statusbar battery icon and the Statusbar battery percentage. Once the app is installed, it is added as an option in the stock Settings application. The app gives you two options, turn on/off Show Battery and turn on/off Show Percentage.

A simple application but, I think one of the only that allows you to turn off the battery icon and still leave the battery percentage. Doug like that he can turn off the battery icon and have some additional space on his statusbar. You can get Battery Control via modmyi source.

Dock (an application launching utility) on 3.0 Firmware

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

Dock It has been a long time (and when I say long time… I’m talking like August 19th of 2008 long time) since I have done a review of Dock, an application that allows you to launch other applications. Honestly, I didn’t even know if it was working on the 3.0 firmware so I decided to give it a shot and, apparently it does work on 3.0. I do think however, that this app has been through more transformations than any other app!

To use Dock, you just drag your finger up from the bottom right corner (or left… depending on your settings) to the middle of your iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen. This will bring up a list of applications. You can then drag your finger up and down to scroll through the applications. Once you are on the app that you would like to launch, just let go and it will launch. You can choose the applications you would like in each Dock via the apps settings. [Read more…]

The menu will include the options Cut, Copy, Paste and Correct. When you tap on correct, you will be given a list of possible corrections for your misspelled word along with the option to add the word to the dictionary (if you add the word to the dictionary, it will not underline it in the future as a misspelled word). SBSettings Update

Available In: Cydia       Price: Free

SBSettings SBSettings has been updated a few times since last night. The 3.0.2 update fixes the Free Memory feature that apparently was not working due to a copying error when packaging the file (and I thought I was crazy this whole time!). I did test this and it does work now. The 3.0.2 update also makes the app a little harder to open. This is implemented to help from accidental opening of SBSettings. You now need to swipe at least 50 pixels in order to open the app. I personally liked this change however, it seems that not everyone was as thrilled about it as I was so SBSettings was updated to version 3.0.3.
