OrbLive 2.01.0575

OrbLive The update to OrbLive adds a really cool new feature, it continues to play a video thumbnail of the last channel you were on as you browse other channels. It also seemed to be a little faster after the update and the buffering feedback has improved. Another very important new feature is that the auto-lock now gets disabled while videos are playing. That way your iPhone is not locking in the middle of a video! Below is a list of the rest of the new features and fixes. OrbLive is available through the Ste Packaging source.

You can check out a video of OrbLive HERE.

PocketTouch 1.3

PocketTouch I received an email from Skylar, the developer of PocketTouch, giving me some information about the update to PocketTouch. However, lets go over the changes first. The first thing I noticed when opening PocketTouch is that it has a slightly new look, making it even more polished than the previous version. If you select the “i” icon and go into the Settings, you will also see a few new options. [Read more…]

WeLyrics 0.8

WeLyrics Version 0.8 of weLyrics adds a few new features. When you turn on the lyrics, you will notice that a lot more lyrics show up on the screen. Not only that but, they look much nicer! As in the previous version of WeLyrics, as the music plays the lyrics will scroll. However, it is much smoother with the update to version 0.8. I still find that the lyrics change much too slowly! I would love to see the lyrics scroll just before they are sung instead of a few words after! Another cool new features is that the app now [Read more…]

Ringtones 2.87

Ringtones I have been messing with the update to Ringtones for a while now and do not see any drastic visual changes. I know the developer is having some issues with SkrewCommon (which is now needed for both the vWallpapers and Ringtones apps). So, it might be an update trying to fix that issue. Let me know in the comments if you see any visual changes that I missed! Ringtones is available through the Skrew source.

Simplify Media Mobile

Simplify Media This is another great app. Works great and has purpose. It allows you to stream music from iTunes, Winamp or just any folders you choose to your iPhone or iPod Touch. It only works on wifi but you can be anywhere. So for example I set up the service on a computer at work and can access the music from home. Even better, you can share your music with up to 30 other friends. They just need a Simplify Media account and install their software on your computer. They have it for Mac, Windows and Linux. You can download the software online at simplifymedia.com and the app is available through the Ste source.

I tested this streaming from my desk computer at work which was pulling .mp3s from our backup server of everyone’s iTunes :) It’s on cable internet and I’m at home on DSL. So now when I’m at home or work or anywhere there is wifi I can access all my music without worrying about my iPhone’s 8GB limit. I just need to get a few friends set up with the service and I’ll have tons of music at my finger tips!

Snapture 1.4

Snapture Snapture is a favorite among many of you…including Doug and I…so updates are always exciting! Well, version 1.4 of Snapture adds an option in the Settings menu that allows you to choose how long of delay you would like on the timer. I think this is a great feature! We have actually used the timer feature a few times to take pics. Another great part of the update is that the thumbnails of the photos take with Snapture actually look correct now instead of looking all squished! A few other changes include; [Read more…]

MxTube2

MxTube Below is some info from the developer on MxTube about MxTube2 and how it is coming along. Check out our post on MxTube for more info about the app.

MxTube2 dev has been going great! Just like before everything is just falling into place perfectly. So far MxTube2 has not crashed once and doesn’t have a single bug. Also, one small but cool feature I have been able to build is dynamic thumbnail loading for the search function. Just like the youtube app, mxtube2 will only load thumbnails in view after scrolling has stopped. This improves the speed of the application considerably.

I’m really excited to see what MxTube2 will bring. This is one of my favorite apps, it even made it to the list of my Top Ten Apps. Can’t wait until it is released!

MobileScrobbler 1.4.3-2

MobileScrobbler MobileScrobbler is a last.fm client made by Sam Steele. Let me start of by saying that this application is AMAZING!!!! The whole point of last.fm is to discover and share music. Once you install the application, you have to log into your last.fm account by going into your Settings and then selecting MobileScrobbler (the settings for the app are added as an option in the stock Settings.app). In the MobileScrobbler settings you are able to disable scrobble, which is the act of posting information about the song you played last on your iPhone or iPod Touch to your Last.fm profile. You can also change the theme, enable or disable gestures, popup controls, and discovery mode. Once you open the application, [Read more…]
